FAQ
PAINTBALL
Q. How many paintballs will i need?
A. haha How long is a piece of string. it depends on how trigger happy you are. typically in a good game you will need 300ish. if its a kids birthday party we recommend you buy the first 100 or 200 and make the kids pay for what ever else they use. This way you can keep the bill under control and the kids will pace themselves a bit better.
Q. does it hurt?
A. It does hurt a little. think of it like being snapped with a tea towel. a game im sure we all played as kids.
Q.My friend went paintballing and came back with big welts that turned in scars, will this happen to me?
A.No this is indicative of the old co2 powered gear and here is a thing of the past.It has been years since we have seen a big bloody welt here.
Q.I went to a co2 powered field and they told me the reduction in welting came from turning the guns down and they turned the guns down for the kids but they still got big welts how can yours be different?
A. its not so much to do with the set speed but the governing and softness of the different gas, you can do what you want with co2 but you will still have co2 with its inherent problems. if you want reduced bruising change the drive gas.
Q. Do I need to pad up?
A. No, with the modern gear its better you dont. light long sleeve tops and long pants will do.
Q. I got told co2 was the best gas and HPA was a down grade. what is the truth here ?
A. The come back to this is ask them if they know any semi pro or pro players, if yes, ask them what they use. A 900 shot HPA setup will cost you over $400 when the co2 equivalent only costs $45. why would a pro player spend almost 10 x the money to get something if its not better. also google HPA v Co2
Q. Why dont all paintball fields use HPA if its so good
A. cost. its very expensive to setup, you can buy a entire field lot of co2 powered gear (guns, bottles, masks etc.) for just the cost of the compressor needed to run HPA and then the gear its self still costs twice as much so only the higher volume better quality venues can afford it. 2 / 3rds of northlands fields have been running dedicated NZHPA for over 2 years
Q. which guns are better, milsim (ak47 m16 etc.) or tournament style?
A. comes down to personal preference, typically milsim guns are made to look the part at the expense of performance so while you will look scary you are limited in combat. tournament style guns are primarily designed for performance and to get the win with little regard for looks.
Q. I herd some debate over licensing, do paintball fields need to be licensed?
A. short answer yes. under the arms act 1983 and 1992 section 2 and 4 a person needs to be dealer licensed ( note not just normal firearms licensed ) to commercially sell which includes hire out. manufacture which includes repair or upgrade a air gun which includes paintball guns. Some operations however claim to give you the gun and then charge you for the paintballs and setup. this is in a gray area.the question is does this still count for professional supervision or does direct supervision kick in for minors the same as if you were using a gun at home and how do they fix the guns.
Dealers licenses are renewed yearly and involve inspections by a vetting officer.
Paintball fields also need epa certified fillers which permits them to fill the listed gases ( certs typically dont list both co2 and HPA ) . this cert is renewed every 5 years.

CONDITIONS OF USE OF THE PARK
I would like to point out for the few people that still think they can can cause trouble, do the dine and dash and break the conditions of use and get way with it by not signing the waiver forms or by giving false details. conditions of entry stipulate that if you enter the park you have agreed to the conditions whether you have signed the forms or not. if the conditions are not agreed to, then you must leave the park and not take part without delay . In the case of false details, this is fraud but you still have agreed in person and broken your contract as well. All this still holds true if the act has been committed for or on behalf of a third person, with the only difference being the third party has agreed to be equally liable and it has been deemed the third party has also agreed to the same conditions. In the case of an act being committed by a minor on behalf of the third party , the minor, the parents of the minor and the third party become jointly liable .
It also needs to be pointed out AE Fun Park reserves the right to publish the names and incident details of people that break or are suspected of breaking the conditions of use.
In the case of a dine and dash (leave without paying the bill) there is a $40 collection fee plus a $140 identification fee if corect details were given on top of any collection agency fees.
In the case of theft, vandalism or unauthorised use by a non participating/unauthorised person by entering the property you have agreed to the parks terms and conditions, you agree you are liable for all cost incurred from the act including both the collection and identification fees.
It is also to be noted we prosecute vandals, dine and dashers and a thieves alike.
